I can see that ChatGPT truly will revolutionize the way I approach being creative. But at the same time, I am caught up in the tension between my desire for creative expression and my need for financial stability. Learning how to effectively use ChatGPT is a moment of reckoning, it's a turning point in my life and career that will shape my future in ways that are hard to imagine. It can also shape yours too if you choose to lean into it like I have.

Got to love some uncanny art generated by an AI model. Hands and small details are usually done poorly with a naive prompt into a text-to-image AI model. Good thing your future AI coworker doesn't need hands. ChatGPT doesn't exist in meatspace.

Imagine you're co-authoring written content with ChatGPT and you want to produce text that has the voice and style of Ann Handley, a renowned writer and marketer. Using the Persona Prompting technique, you can instruct ChatGPT to adopt the persona of Ann Handley, mimicking her tone, style, and language. However, you find that the output generated by ChatGPT is not quite what you had in mind.

To improve the text, you apply the Kissinger Prompting technique, which involves refining and improving the previous response without explicitly telling the model what to change. The result can get better, but it's not quite there.

Kissinger is unimpressed with the quality of your writing and won't even read it but will tell you to rewrite it anyways. I prompted Stable Diffusion with "Henry Kissinger as a vaporwave metal cyborg in the style of Leonardo da Vinci, artstation" to get this image.

In this case, you can prompt ChatGPT to refine its previous response using the persona of Vince Gilligan, the creator of the hit TV show Breaking Bad, whose skills you admire. This allows you to build more tension in the personal anecdote within your introduction.

Moreover, to make the most of your co-authoring experience with ChatGPT, it's important to understand the concept of "Shifting the Weights." This means that you need to adjust your approach to ChatGPT depending on the domain expertise you require at the present moment for your writing. It means being willing to abandon a tab for a fresh one within the UI of ChatGPT. For example, if you're writing about marketing, you may want to prompt ChatGPT to adopt the persona of a marketing expert and ask for a title. Then hand that title off to a different GPT-persona in a separate tab. Don't be afraid to abandon a conversation and start a new one when it is needed.
